Russia’s Lukoil, Eni create consortium for Mexican field auction

MEXICO CITY, Nov 29 (PRIME) -- Lukoil International Upstream Holding B.V., an affiliate of Russian oil major Lukoil, has created a consortium with the Mexican unit of Italy’s Eni – Eni Mexico – in order to participate in an auction for Mexican fields, Mexico’s National Hydrocarbons Commission said in a statement on Tuesday.

The companies plan to bid at a fourth auction of the first round of sales of rights for development of 10 deep-sea blocks in the Mexican Gulf – oil provinces Cinturon Plegado Perdido and Cuenca Salina.

Besides the Lukoil-Eni consortium, seven other consortia will take part in the auction and eight companies – BHP Billiton, BP, China Offshore Oil Corporation, Exxon, PC Carigali, Pemex, Statoil, and Total – will participate on their own.
